Using the Plan Round Feature

The Plan Round tool in Upgame is designed to help players create smarter course strategies by using dispersion data, shot history, and even community insights. Here’s how to make the most of it:

1. Access Plan Round

  • Go to the Getting Started page.

  • Select “Plan Round.”

  • Search for and select your desired course.

2. Course Map & Targeting

  • You’ll be brought to a map of the course.

  • A target marker shows the distance from the tee to the flag.

  • Drag and drop the target to set your intended landing zone.

3. Using Filters

The Filters button unlocks powerful options to customize your strategy:

  • Dispersion Sources

    • Rounds logged in Upgame

    • Shots recorded in Trackman

  • Date Range → Narrow or widen the time span of your shot history.

  • Club Selection → Analyze dispersions with specific clubs.

  • Yardage Windows → Focus on key distance ranges.

  • Wind Conditions → Overlay dispersions based on forecasted wind direction and strength.

4. Dispersion Visuals

  • Once filters are applied, dispersions appear as ellipses:

    • Dark Blue Ellipse → Upgame dispersions (70% probability zone).

    • Orange Ellipse → Trackman dispersions.

These visuals help you identify realistic landing areas under different scenarios.

5. Approach Dispersions

  • Move the target to your desired approach shot location.

  • In the Filters screen, select Approach.

  • You’ll now see dispersions for approach shots into the green from that location.

6. Shot Tracker: Learn from the Field

Another powerful feature within Plan Round is Shot Tracker.

  • Shows all logged shots from other Upgame users on that course.

  • Choose between:

    • Field Shots (shots from other players)

    • Your Own Shots

Color Coding:

  • Each logged shot is color-coded by the score outcome.

  • This helps you see which landing zones tend to produce better results and which areas carry higher risk.

Pro Tip: Use Plan Round before tournaments or practice rounds to set your targets, anticipate risks, and build confidence in your strategy. Combining your own dispersions with Shot Tracker insights from the field can highlight smarter landing zones you may not have considered.
